Shepherds and Stuff…

This has been an epic week, finding out that I am off to the States to work as a Grow-Give Pastor (I think the name gives a lot away), figuring out how to shift my life, informing work of the new plan. Deciding who to talk to about Sponsorship. Then at the end of that doing Pressy Youth Winter Camp, phew! I am exhausted.

We had a memory vs on camp, John 10:10 more specifically the last part “I have come so that you may, have life and have it to the full”. We have the choice to choose life, and we have a Shepherd who is willing to lay down his life for us. I think people get a little confused that Christianity is a series of rules and regulations, the reality is that we have FREEDOM in Christ.

In Christ we have the ability to live life, and live it to the full. Perhaps those things we thirst after are the very same things that enslave us. In Christ we are afforded the freedom to live life to the fullest, in light of Jesus we can be empowered to do great things for his glory, that seems to me to be something empowering not enslaving.

Whilst I don’t like U2 Bono has a good Quote “Religion is a building that God is no longer in.” I’m sure some U2 fan will tell me the exact quote, so sorry to all the U2 fans.

God Bless.

For all those who are interested in the big news, this is it! I have recently been offered a position as a part of the Church of Celebration (www.churchofcelebration.com) in Maricopa, which is just outside of Phoenix. The role is an Executive Pastors role looking at how Discipleship Groups function and leadership development. There is also a missionary component here which is very exciting.

Many of you have been praying for me and I want to thankyou! The plan is to try and get Green Cards as soon as possible and I will shoot to be over there in August.

God Bless

…and it doesn’t involve Obama, although I’m sure he’ll be declared president today.
